Reggie Bush getting 2005 Heisman Trophy back

Heisman Trophy owner Reggie Bush will receive it back.

Bush's 2005 Heisman was reinstated, according to a Wednesday morning announcement from the Heisman Trust. The former USC standout gave up the award in 2010 as a result of program fines, claiming that Bush had improperly benefited from his tenure as a Trojan.

Michael Comerford, president of The Heisman Trophy Trust, made the news and said, "We are thrilled to welcome Reggie Bush to the Heisman family in recognition of his collegiate achievements."

"We determined that this is the ideal time for Reggie to regain the trophy, considering the significant changes that have occurred in collegiate athletics over the last several years. It gives us great pleasure to have him return."
Bush will receive the trophy back from the Heisman Trust, and USC will receive a duplicate.
