Bjork Guomundsdottirwho is a singer, composer, songwriter, music
producer and actress of Iceland.She received nominations for one
Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards and thirteen Grammy Awards. Bjork
is popular for her expressive songs and for her involvement with
different ranges of music like jazz, electronica, ambient music,
alternative rock, folk and pop. She is also known widely for her
peculiar outfits.
Many singles by Bjork, which have topped the music chart of UK Top 10,
include “Hyperballad”, “It’s Oh So Quiet” and “Army of Me”. “One Little
Indian”, record label of Bjork, estimated that over 15 million albums of
her have been sold all across the world. On the 8th of May, 2007,
“Volta”, her latest album, came out. She was at the 36th position on
“The 100 Greatest Women in Rock and Roll” of Music First or Video Hits
One, and 8th position on “22 Greatest Voices in Music” of Music
Television or MTV.
Bjork started her
musical career at the age of 11 with her classical piano study in
primary school. The song of Tina Charles, “I Love to Love” was sung by
her and was aired nationwide. A Falkinn representative signed Bjork and
her album “Bjork” came out in 1977.
